David Anderson has been teaching social studies at Marian since 2008. He currently teaches Advanced Placement European History, Pre-AP World History and Geography, and African-American History. He holds a Master of Arts degree in history from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, a Master of Education degree from Creighton University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2015, Anderson was selected as one of only 100 teachers nationwide to receive the Buchwald Summer Fellowship Award. In 2012, Anderson was selected for the Nebraska Civic Leadership Program through the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Political Science Department. Students from Anderson’s courses have represented Marian at the district, state and national levels of the National History Day competition. Anderson serves as the moderator for the Social Studies Honor Society—Rho Kappa.
