2022 Open Gyms & Summer Conditioning

All Marian athletes are encouraged to attend summer workouts. Summer conditioning begins Wednesday, June 1. All sessions will be held in the gyms and weight room unless otherwise noted. Please enter through Marian’s lobby doors. 

Basketball

Head Coach: Tom Tvrdy

Weights and Open Gyms:
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays | 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Will do weight training 10:30-11:30 and basketball skill training 11:30-12:30.
Skill training will not start until June 10th.

Bowling

Contact Coach Dziadus at cdziadus@omahamarian.org for summer league information.  Maplewood Lanes has a bowling summer league that starts June 1 – July 27 on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. You can form teams of three and compete against other teams while practicing your bowling skills.

Cost: $10 weekly

Cross Country

Head Coach: Roger Wright

Weights and Running: First session will be June 1. 
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays | 6 a.m. – 8 a.m. | Marian
*Some of you will be there from 6 – 7:30 a.m. and some will be there from 6:30 – 8 a.m., depending on which group you are in. Groups will be determined later.

Lake Runs: First run will be June 4th.
Saturdays | 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. | Lake Zorinsky
*There is an option for a 4.5 mile run or a 3 mile run.  First run will be June 4.  Directions will be sent to show where we meet.

Please contact Coach Wright at wrightme@omahamarian.org to let him know that you are interested and he will assign you a conditioning group. All mileage will count towards the 300 Mile Club, which will be explained below. Over 25 runners have expressed interest in the weights/running sessions and lake runs already, but we have plenty of room for more to join.

300 Mile Club – Begins Sunday, May 15, and ends on Sunday, Aug. 7. There are 85 days to log 300 miles. A mileage report is sent by email to Coach Wright every Sunday, which contains the mileage covered for that week. Over 125 different runners have joined the club over the years.

Golf

All returning and incoming students are invited to join Coach Davis for Tryout Prep golf skills training in June and July.  Please contact him at rdavis@omahamarian.org for information about the training schedule. 

Soccer
