Senior Jalea Culliver has been selected as a top female Scholar Athlete for golf by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee. She was honored at a luncheon with other fall Scholar Athletes on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Downtown DoubleTree Hotel.
The Greater Omaha Sports Committee, a non-profit organization founded in 1977, consists of over 1,000 members committed to seeing sports flourish in Omaha. Throughout its over 40 years of existence, the committee has been involved in many of the major sporting activities brought to the city. It also recognizes Omaha area high school Scholar Athletes, who are honored for their athletic and scholastic achievements.
Jalea was selected for this honor because of her many outstanding accomplishments on and off the course, including her selection to the All-State Super Team and winning the 2018 individual girls golf state championship.
