Of the 641 students who competed in the National Student Media Contests held virtually this month, eight were Marian students. These students competed in photo, literary magazine, writing and design contests with other students from around the country.
This competition was just one part of the 2020 Fall JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention Marian journalism students were able to participate in. They were also able to attend educational sessions where they learned from and networked with professional journalists. The convention has also given students virtual access to the recorded convention sessions for the next two months to continue their learning.
While they may have enjoyed a trip to the convention’s original location of Orlando, Fla., the students were still able to do Marian proud and bring home multiple awards.
