Marian High School is proud to announce that ten Crusader student-athletes signed letters of intent today. While they have displayed stellar performances on the court and field, their time spent in the classroom and community is just as impressive.
Emily Bressman ’19 will play volleyball at Creighton University in Omaha. Emily was a member of Marian’s 2015 and 2017 state championship volleyball teams and was the 2017 Most Outstanding Player on the Nebraska All Class Tournament Team. That same year, she was also the Player of the Tournament for the Nebraska Class A State All-Tournament Team. She holds the school record for the number of Marian career kills, is a four-year volleyball letter winner, and has been a three-time team captain. Emily has been a class officer for three years, participated in the Dominican Republic Service Trip, and was a Freshman and Senior Retreat Leader. She also is a member of French Club, Science Club and the CEOs Club.
Alexis Christiansen ’19 signed to play soccer at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Alexis is a two-time soccer letter winner and was a member of the 2017 state championship soccer team and the 2018 state runner-up soccer team. When’s she’s not playing soccer, Alexis volunteers with the Police Athletics for Community Engagement (PACE).
Lilyana Gonzalez ’19 will play soccer at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Lilyana is a two-time soccer state champion and was named to the Honorable Mention List for All State Soccer in 2017. At Marian, Lilyana has been involved in Campus Ministry, Spanish Club, Recruitment Team and Harvard Model Congress, in addition to being a class officer during her freshman and sophomore years. Lilyana also is involved in journalism and was a state champion and letter winner. She volunteers as a tutor at the Boys and Girls Club and is a volunteer at the Police Athletic League and the Fútbol for the World Soccer Clinic.
Emma Hern ’19 signed to play volleyball at the College of Saint Mary in Omaha. Emma is a two-time volleyball letter winner and also earned a letter as a member of the varsity track team. Emma is involved in Coffee Club, Art Club, Sustainability Club and the Cards for Humanity Club.
Mallory Mumby ’19 will play soccer at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. Mallory has been a member of two state championship soccer teams and was named to the 2017-2018 Honor Roll. In addition to soccer, she is involved in the CEOs Club, Coffee Club, Young Medicine Club and soccer youth development program. She also volunteers at Munroe Meyer.
Katherine Pelton ’19 signed to play soccer at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As a three-time letter winner, she was a part of the state championship soccer teams in 2016 and 2017. She was also a two-time letter winner as a member of the cross country team and participated in the Winnebago Service Trip.
Quinn Ruff ’19 will play softball at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. Quinn is a varsity softball letter winner, was named to the Metro Conference Honorable Mention list and was an Omaha World Herald Class A Honorable Mention. Additionally, she was named a Top Gun Academy All Star in 2018. Quinn is involved in Operation Others, Recruitment Team, Art Club, Spanish Club, and participated in the Global Leadership Adventures Ghana Service Trip.
Grace Thede ’19 signed to play soccer at the University of Nebraska – Omaha. Grace is a varsity soccer letter winner and was named to the Academic All-State list. She is a member of the National Honors Society, in addition to the English, Social Studies and Science Honors Societies. Additionally, she is involved in Spanish Club, Coffee Club, soccer youth development program and volunteers her time at Munroe Meyer.
Maureen Tolley ’19 will play soccer at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. Maureen is a varsity soccer letter winner, was named to the Academic All-State Honor Roll and was an All-State Honorable Mention. At Marian, she is involved in National Honor Society, the Science and Social Studies Honors Societies, Science Club and Operation Others. Maureen is also a class officer, the co-president of Coffee Club, a volunteer at Munroe Meyer and works at Prairie Life Fitness.
Hailey Zuroske ’19 signed to play volleyball at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Hailey is a four-year member of the varsity volleyball team, two-time state champion and was named to the All-American National Tournament Team. Off the court, she is involved in Operation Others, Science Club, CEO Club, Campus Ministry, National Honor Society, Recruitment Team, the Big Sister Program and was a Freshman Retreat Leader.
